Nasdaq Closes Below 4000 On Friday; Only 3 Companies Now Hold AAA Rating

Weekly Wrap Up

Overall the U.S. stocks struggled this past week. On Thursday the Dow Jones fell 267 points and Nasdaq dropped 3.1%. Then on Friday Nasdaq fell an additional 1.3% and ended the day below 4000. The Federal Reserve released the minutes from their mid-March meeting on Wednesday and revealed that the overwhelming majority of its members believe that they should wait until 2015 or later to increase short-term interest rates.

Due to the recent downgrade of Automatic Data Processing (ADP), only three companies now have the coveted AAA rating.
The three remaining companies are Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Exxon-Mobil (XOM) and Microsoft (MSFT). Toyota (TM) announced a worldwide recall of 6.4 million vehicles. Learning from General Motor's (GM) mistake, Toyota decided to be proactive and announced the recall before any accidents, injuries, or deaths occurred.
