321,000 Jobs Added in November; Dow Finishes Just Below 18,000
The Dow Jones falls just short of reaching 18,000, ending the day at 17,958. 321,000 jobs were added in November, blowing past even the most optimistic expectations. The release of the jobs report puts 2014 on track to become the best year for job growth this century. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5.8% as nearly 70% of U.S. employers are now hiring. Gas prices continued to fall in the U.S. this week as gas prices dipped below $2 in 2 states, Texas and Oklahoma. Gas prices are significantly down this year as the price of a barrel of crude oil in the U.S. is down 33%.
