Markets Flat as Interest Rates May Climb (AAPL, AMR)

At a meeting of the Federal Reserve Board members, it was hinted that higher interest rates may be coming down the road as signs of an inflation are appearing. In response to that perceived price inflation, the stocks of companies that manufacture basic production inputs rose slightly, but markets were flat overall. In corporate news, a  $625 million patent suit against Apple (AAPL) was dismissed. American Airlines’ parent company AMR Corp (AMR) struck a deal to appear once again on Expedia (EXPE).
