Archipelago
A division of NYSE Group. Archipelago originated in 1996 as an Electronic Communication Network (ECN) serving the NASDAQ marketplace. In 2000, it joined forced with the Pacific stock exchange to introduce ArcaEx, the first fully automated stock exchange.
