articles of incorporation
A document establishing a corporation and including information such as the name of the corporation, its purpose, the number and type of shares of stock the corporation will issue, the names and addresses of the initial board of directors and founders, and the company's street address. Sometimes referred to as a charter. See corporate by-laws.
