bearish engulfing pattern
A candlestick chart formation used by technical analysts to signal that an asset's market price is likely to move lower, and which is characterized by a small white up candlestick with short wicks that is followed by a large black down candlestick that has a range which fully encompasses the small white candle. When a technical Forex Trader observes a bearish engulfing pattern, they would typically prepare to enter into a short position or close out a long position.
