broker dealer
A broker who buys and sells stocks as a principal to the Transaction. Some brokerage firms maintain an inventory of stock holdings from which it attempts to fill clients' orders before submitting the orders to a specialist or market maker. In this case, the broker acts as both an agent for the Client and a principal to the transaction.
