brokerage account
A balance held with a broker allowing the customer to deposit Funds for the purchase and sale of assets. Once funded, the brokerage account can be used to buy and sell securities, futures or currencies. In the forex market, a brokerage account can be funded with a nominal amount of money that can then be used to initiate positions using leverage.
