clearing firm
An organization which is a member of a futures or securities exchange and allowed to conduct and clear transactions on the exchange. A clearing firm handles all transactions in the back office matching all trades to minimize the number of transactions and is also responsible for the delivery and settlement of all trades made through the firm.
