An exchange term describing the members, clerks and other personnel in a particular area of the trading floor, generally in the trading pits. Each pit has a designated commodity or other asset and all buy and sell orders in that commodity must be executed with the crowd. In forex, the crowd often refers to members of the International Monetary Market (IMM).
