A chart pattern characterized by rapidly declining highs that converge on more gradually decreasing lows, resulting in a downward sloping wedge formation. Technicians view a declining wedge as a neutral indicator and will place orders above and below the trend lines drawn along the tops and bottoms of the wedge and play the one that gets filled on the breakout.
