Liquid Cash placed by commercial banks with regional U.S. Federal Reserve Banks to meet the Fed's reserve requirements that do not earn interest and can be lent out by the Fed to other banks that lack sufficient reserves. The Federal Reserve Bank adjusts the benchmark Fed Funds Rate periodically to help meet its monetary policy objectives.
