Federal Reserve Discount Rate
Rate Of Interest at which Funds can be borrowed in the short term by member banks from the main central bank (Federal Reserve Bank). Together with the Federal Funds Rate, the Federal Reserve discount rate is one of a pair of interest rates the Fed will set. Direct Control is applied over the Federal Reserve Discount rate by the Fed. This rate is of particular interest to foreign exchange investors looking to borrow Cash. Also called discount rate.
