General Securities Representative Examination
A test administered by the financial industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) which is required to become a registered representative of FINRA. Passing the General Securities representative Examination authorizes the registered representative to place trades with a Brokerage House for a firm or for a Client and allows the representative to sell any security with the exception of Commodity Futures. also called the Series 7 exam.
