injunction
A court issued order that forbids a defendant either permanently or temporarily from taking some unjust or inequitable action that they have threatened or attempted to do that would injure the plaintiff. In the United States, the CFTC can obtain an injunction against the operation of forex brokers and other regulated entities accused of engaging in fraudulent or other illegal activities which have harmed the public.
