monetary base (M0)
A very liquid form of currency circulating within an economy. In the United States, the Monetary Base or M0 includes paper currency, coins, and the reserves that commercial banks keep on deposit with the Federal Reserve Bank. In the past, forex traders focused on money supply measures more than they typically do today.
