redenomination
The act of officially changing the value of a nation's currency, usually done after a period of high inflation or a devaluation of the currency in the forex market. Redenomination also refers to exchanging a security's notional currency for another. European stocks were redenominated from their old national currencies to the Euro after the consolidated currency was introduced. >
