A gathering of company officers, Board of Directors (BOD), and shareholders. An annual shareholder meeting is held after the close of each fiscal year when the company's performance over the past year is reviewed, the shareholders elect the board of directors, and vote on matters affecting the company's operation. The board of directors can also call special shareholder meetings to discuss business that cannot be deferred until the next annual meeting. See proxy statement.
