trading ahead
When a deal is executed for a firm's account before an order left by a Client is executed. Although frowned upon on exchanges, many professional forex market makers routinely engage in trading ahead of large customer orders, using an order as a form of stop loss if it is eventually filled, but otherwise closing their transactions for a profit if the order is not filled.
