The world's largest lumber company, Weyerhaeuser Co., announced a merger today that will create North America's leading producer of fine paper. Weyerhaeuser, whose managed businesses currently range from pulp mills to real estate, will spin-off its fine paper division, the sector that produces paper used in copiers and fax machines, to be fused with Canadian-based copier paper company Domtar Inc.
